In a pioneering environmental initiative, and in the presence of His Excellency Ali bin Malih Al-Asmari, General Manager of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification in Qassim region, His Excellency Engineer Omar bin Abdullah Al-Omar, CEO and board member of Qassim Cement Company, launched the "QCC Green Plant Initiative" yesterday, Tuesday. This initiative is a continuation of the memorandum of understanding signed between Qassim Cement Company and the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two parties and working integratively to preserve the environment ecosystem and natural vegetation cover, and increase green spaces.
In its first phase, the initiative aims to plant 30,000 trees in the company's plnts in Qassim,Hail and the surrounding areas, in a manner that is compatible with the region's environmental climate. This new step is a continuation of the company’s previous efforts to expand vegetation cover and fulfills its environmental commitment within the framework of the Saudi Green Initiative and Vision 2030.
Engineer Al-Omar emphasized that this initiative reflects the QCC commitment to environmental protection and combating desertification, noting that increasing green areas is an essential part of the company's sustainability strategy. For his part, Al-Asmari appreciated Qassim Cement initiative, considering it a model to be followed and an example of what public-private partnerships should look like.
With this initiative, Qassim Cement Company reaffirms its environmental leadership and strengthens its position as an active partner in achieving sustainable development in the Kingdom.
